The killer of the “sausage king” Vladimir Marugov apologized to the victims and fully admitted his guilt at a meeting in the Moscow Regional Court on June 21.
According to the correspondent of “MK” from the courtroom, the accused Alexander Mavridi, who escaped from the temporary detention center with a group of Moldovans, had a long conversation with a lawyer before the start of the trial, covering his face with a folder from cameras. The accomplices were placed separately. This time, the most daring of the defendants, Konstantin Barsky, who was removed from the courtroom more than once for violating order, was absent. The common-law wife of the murdered businessman Sabina Gazieva was in a good mood. She refused the last word, supporting the words of a lawyer who asked for a life sentence for Mavridi and his accomplice in the murder, Pasha Akhmedov. Meanwhile, the latter’s lawyer considered that the case should be returned to the prosecutor for additional investigation. Meanwhile, at the previous meeting, the public prosecutor asked that Mavridi be sentenced to 21 years in prison in a strict regime colony.
“I want to apologize to the victims. There was no contract killing there, just a coincidence. If Vladimir behaved differently in relation to Tatiana and his son (the ex-wife and son of the “sausage king”. – Approx. ed.), then maybe God would not have ordered so. I fully admit my guilt. As for Akhmedov, he just went along with me as a friend, there was no collusion. Barsky is an elderly man, he just lived with me, he ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. Only I am to blame for all these crimes,” Mavridi said.
Pasha Akhmedov also apologized, fully admitting his guilt. As for the Moldovans, they all regretted the escape and asked not to be judged harshly. The verdict will be announced on June 26.
