The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that about 100 people remained in the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka in the Shebekinsky district, which is under shelling. According to him, the authorities can’t log in to the village because of the shelling.
“Today we cannot enter there yet, about 100 people remained in the village, according to the report of the head of the district. The shelling of the last days does not allow clarifying the information,” Mr. Gladkov said during a live broadcast during “In contact with”. Before the outbreak of hostilities, about 5 thousand people lived in the village.
Novaya Tavolzhanka, which borders Ukraine, has been under heavy shelling in recent days. Local authorities reported that today the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired more than 70 rockets from the Grad MLRS into the village. At the same time, the “Russian Volunteer Corps”, consisting of Russians fighting on the side of Ukraine, declared that it was holding Novaya Tavolzhanka.
