“Give the guys a chance”: HC Sochi lost to Severstal

A small home series of HC Sochi ended with another defeat. With a score of 1:2, Leopards lost to Cherepovets Severstal. The match took place on the ice of the Bolshoi Sports Palace on October 16.

Sochi’s only goal came in the third period. Its author was Amir Garayev, who scored the first goal this season. The transfer was made to him by Tigran Yarulin, a newcomer to the hockey club, a native of the Sochi youth team “Captain”. This is the 19-year-old striker’s first assist score for the Leopards. The team’s match list also included another newcomer – Yegor Sobolevsky. The hockey player just moved to Sochi on an exchange with SKA. The 20-year-old defender did not go out on the ice during the game.

“This is our philosophy. We will constantly introduce “fresh blood”, we will introduce young people, give the guys a chance. The fact that they are scoring points – we are only happy about this, it means we are doing everything right. The guys are growing, they need to open up, ”explained Andrey Nazarov, head coach of HC Sochi.

However, “fresh blood” did not help the Sochi residents to break the black streak, although the “leopards” tried to hold the line. Severstal’s first goal reached the hosts’ goal only in the 18th minute. The success of Alexander Zhabreev was able to repeat Daniil Vovchenko already in the third period. The second half for both teams went smoothly, the middle of the game was marked only by the removal of Kirill Petkov for holding the stick.

Sochi’s next match will take place away. On October 18, the Leopards will meet Dinamo hockey players on their home ice in the Minsk Arena.

Recall that recently the teams have already met in Sochi. The advantage at that time remained with the Leopards – 3:1.
