Hatayspor midfielder Christian Atsu was found dead under rubble in Turkey, according to the player’s agent Murat Uzunmehmet.

“Christian Atsu has been found,” Uzunmehmet wrote on social media. “Unfortunately, he passed away.”

A 31-year-old athlete from Ghana, a member of the national team of this country, could not be found for 11 days under the rubble formed after a powerful earthquake.

Christian Atsu has played for Chelsea, Porto, Everton and Newcastle.

He played 60 matches for Ghana, scoring 10 goals.

In 2015, Atsu, together with the national team, reached the final of the African Cup of Nations. He was recognized as the best player of the tournament.

An earthquake of magnitude 7.7, which occurred on February 6 in Turkey and Syria, led to the death of more than 42 thousand people.
