The chairman of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, Tino Hrupalla, called on German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to fire the country’s foreign minister, Annalena Burbock, after her words that EU countries were waging war against Russia.
“With his unprofessional and cheeky behavior, the Foreign Minister endangers the existence of Germany. I urge the chancellor to use his authority to inform the Russian government quickly and unequivocally that Germany is not at war with Russia. He should fire Foreign Minister Burbock,” said Khrupalla, who transmits press service of the AfD.
On January 24, during the PACE meeting in Strasbourg, German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock called on the EU countries to do more to support Ukraine, in particular, with regard to tanks, and not to look for those responsible for the lack of supplies of Western tanks within the Commonwealth. She added that EU countries “wage war against Russia, not against each other.”
Former Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova statedthat the German Foreign Ministry makes conflicting statements regarding the conflict in Ukraine and the role of Germany in it, in this regard, Moscow asks the German Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Geza Andreas von Geyr, to clarify Berlin’s position.
