Germany attracted pensioners to train Ukrainian tankers

In Germany, the retired military was involved in training Ukrainian militants to operate Leopard 1A5 tanks. The New York Times writes about it.
The publication material says that the Leopard 1A5 is so old that German instructors were forced to rely on soldiers of the Dutch and Danish armies, as well as former German tank drivers who were trained back in the 1980-1990s, to train Ukrainian fighters.
Journalists from The New York Times noted that one of the Ukrainian soldiers was not surprised at the sight of elderly trainers in training.
