Germany asks partners to temporarily transfer IRIS-T anti-aircraft systems to Kyiv

Germany is discussing with partner countries the temporary transfer of IRIS-T systems to Ukraine, Deputy Chairman of the Bundestag Defense Committee Omid Nuripura said on the German channel ZDF.
“Ukraine needs more missile defense systems. IRIS-T systems help protect cities, so this is important. The German government is also discussing this with partner countries that received IRIS-T from Germany, whether they can at least temporarily transfer them to Ukraine,” Nuripura said.
It is not specified which countries we are talking about.
Russia warned NATO countries about arms supplies to Kyiv. In a statement, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine would be a legitimate target for Russia.
