The dollmaker herself visited Nizhny Novgorod, where the world’s largest collection of dolls by the famous German master Hildegard Günzel is collected, and during her visit to the city she presented the Russian doll Asya in the outfit of the Nizhny Novgorod province.
About this on Friday let me knowl website kp.ru.
According to the master, the motto of her work “was the Russian soul.”
“When I arrived in Nizhny Novgorod, visited its sights, got acquainted with the collections of Russian art in Nizhny Novgorod museums, only then did I absolutely clearly feel this special Russian soul,” Gunzel noted.
58 works by the German “queen of dolls” are currently on display in Nizhny Novgorod.
Minister of International and Interregional Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Olga Guseva noted that Gunzel’s works are represented in the collections of Demi Moore, Madonna, Michael Jackson and Donatella Versace. And, thanks to the friendship of a local collector with her, the Nizhny Novgorod region received a world-class exhibition.
It is noted that the Asya doll, created by Gunzel, is dressed in a festive peasant costume of a young married woman from the Nizhny Novgorod province of the late 18th – early 19th centuries.
