Ukraine can count on Germany’s support, which includes, among other things, new arms supplies, German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock said during her visit to Kharkiv, transmits press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country.
“In all parts of Ukraine, from Kharkiv to Kherson and Kyiv, people should know that they can count on our solidarity and support,” the minister said.
Burbock explained that this support includes further arms shipments, “winter aid” in the form of transformers, generators, fuel and blankets.
In autumn 2022, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz declaredthat the West is going to provide assistance to Ukraine “for decades to come.” Then he added that he considers the support of Ukraine by the European Union “the right geopolitical decision.” The German Chancellor stressed that the EU will provide assistance to Kyiv as much as needed.
Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. In response, Western countries imposed large-scale sanctions against Russia and began to supply weapons to Kyiv.
The Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized Western military assistance to Ukraine. In this regard, back in April, Moscow sent a note of protest to all countries, including the United States. The Russian Foreign Ministry said that by supplying weapons to Ukraine, the United States is trying to prolong the conflict, as well as to benefit from it.
