On February 9, at the age of 73, a pupil of the Arkhangelsk hockey, Honored Master of Sports of the USSR Georgy Kanareikin passed away. This was reported by the regional center for sports training “Vodnik”.
A pupil of the Arkhangelsk bandy school, he started his career in his native Vodnik, but spent most of his career as part of the capital’s Dynamo. Namely, speaking for the Moscow club, he won the USSR championship seven times and became the owner of the European Champions Cup three times. As part of the USSR national team, he won the World Championship six times and four more times became the winner of the international tournament for the prizes of the newspaper “Soviet Russia”.
