Generation of monsters: why our children rape and kill

Generation of monsters: why our children rape and kill

Why is that? In my first novel, The Book of Sin, I posed, among other things, the following question: “What happens if children refuse to obey adults, refuse to obey adults? What will happen?” After all, if you look at what is the power of an adult over his offspring based on? What makes him do this or that?

Because he’s stronger? Because he has control levers? Because it provides money? Provides security? Or is it just a habit of such a routine, a habit of hierarchy? Perhaps all together, but the latter is definitely of considerable importance. There is a stereotype of behavior – a pattern, a template – and adults and children act according to it. But what if the stereotype has changed or, more precisely, it has been changed? Society was formatted according to new patterns, giving new models of behavior. What did we get as a result?

Here, I believe, they will pull me up, presenting a standard set of counterarguments. Like those that were still on the tablets of the ancient Sumerians, they wrote about the decline in morals and the unworthy behavior of children. Or they will remember the phrase of Mikhail Bulgakov: “People are like people, only the housing problem spoiled them a little.” In general, it is not worth dramatizing the current state of affairs, plus or minus there were always the same troubles, but humanity somehow survived. I’m sure something similar will sound to me in response.

Everything seems to be so, but not so. Because, yes, there are, of course, only seven sins (the main one is pride), only they can grow in completely different ways. And not only the housing problem can spoil people, but also much more terrible things. As in the third season of the cult series Twin Peaks, where the Black Lodge, unlike in previous seasons, was already in almost every house – just go to the Internet. Yes, virtual life has replaced real life, and millions of people bowed to the iPhone, leaving for the world of social networks.

Banality? Yes. They talked, cracked and parted. After all, it’s easier. Gave the child a gadget and went about his business while the child wanders around the virtual world. Where will he lead, lure him? It is naive to believe that the Internet space is unmanageable. No, the user is led along it, naturally zombifying and subjugating. Therefore, despite the desire to stand out, users, in fact, look, talk and act almost the same. Slaves always look alike.

I’m not sure that adults are able to resist this. Unlikely. But the child is doomed to defeat in the battle with the Matrix. And here the main question arises: so who is actually raising our children? And are we able to somehow influence our children? What do they want to convey to each other?

Here’s another case, relatively recent. Moscow Region Khimki. An 11-year-old girl took a kitchen knife with her to the lyceum. Called in a classmate. She took out a knife and slashed the girl: 26 knife cuts on her face and 20 wounds on her body. Fifth grade, 46 stabs. Then she returned to the classroom and said: “I killed Sonya.” This horror could be classified as something egregious, but the real horror is that this is increasingly becoming commonplace. Although it pales in front of “raped and burned”?

Parents send their children to schools and want to be taught there. After all, the parents themselves are either busy with survival: they have to work, work hard, or they are simply too lazy, they are fixated on themselves. Remember how Nabokov’s Lolita ends? Humbert goes to jail, and Lolita dies in childbirth, giving birth to a dead girl. And this is a symbol, of course, a symbol of modern society, where a union built only on passion and profit is not capable of giving anything alive. Father and mother have no time to take care of the child, they are busy only with themselves.

That’s just the school. But, as the philosopher Ilyin noted, education is useless without upbringing. And in our schools, education was made a service, presenting teachers as something like waiters, and the demand from them became appropriate. At the same time, any manifestation of individuality was crushed – and this is not the fault of the teachers. As a result, whom did the student see in front of him? A crushed, humiliated, tormented person, put on a beggarly wage and overwhelmed with endless bureaucracy. Teachers were put not just beyond the survival line – they were mocked.

And here’s the plot. In Krasnoyarsk, a sixth-grader smoked an electronic cigarette in class, and when the teacher asked to remove it, the student began to insult the teacher and got into a fight. So what about “don’t dramatize”? However, this plot is not so egregious, there is, again, much, much worse.

And here we return to patterns of behavior, to hierarchy, to authorities, without which, as Julius Evola noted, no society is able to exist. Even the way it is now. So who is in authority among modern schoolchildren? How do they imagine the hierarchy? And what are their values? Of course, the most important of them is the latest iPhone – this sacred cow of modern civilization. For her, you can commit any indecency and commit it again, to be sure. Actually, this is how children evaluate teachers too: that “iPhone” doesn’t have – fu, rogue, why listen to him! And parents often approve of this attitude.

Because – and this is the reason for many troubles – society has become obsessed with the cult of success and success. A child is hammered in from childhood: achieve success at any cost, therefore push the falling one and finish him off. The other person is just a resource, the other person is just food for you, unique and sinless. Capitalism devoured socialism, and now it is eating itself up. And in such a matrix there is no person, but only the attributes of his success. Children and teenagers feel this better than others, which is why they are so obsessed with iPhones, which is why they, for example, have such an expression – “explain for the gear” when you have to prove that you have the right to wear branded items.

Are the children themselves to blame? Hardly. How to explain to them that it is important to study well when they were offered the degenerate Danya Milokhin as a role model? How to explain to them that fives are important if the blogger earns millions and does not know the textbook for the sixth grade? Well, for those who are older, there is Blinovskaya – bring her, bring her, fool or fool, your money. Education was destroyed and devalued not by children, but by adults themselves, because they deliberately wanted to raise fools and slaves – such people are easier to manage.

But something got out of hand. And the answer to my question, which I asked: “What will happen if the children refuse to obey adults?”, received: it will be terrible. There is a story by Stephen King “Children of the Corn”, where teenagers seize power in the city by killing adults. So, we are moving towards something similar, and I’m afraid there is no artistic exaggeration in this. Only the disgusting prose of life. By the way, unlike literature – there was relative parity among teenagers, the world – in life they will cut each other into shreds.

The emptiness of meanings, the emptiness without God gives rise to monsters who have no understanding of the value of human life. That’s why they kill so easily, they come to schools and shoot their peers and teachers. And humiliation is practiced here as a method. This can be seen even in the media. Watch shows, any, including humorous ones, their basis, their essence is to laugh at others, to lower, humiliate and thus show their strength. Mercy is not just a weakness, it is a shame in the modern matrix of values.

Such morals are accepted in the zone, but not among schoolchildren. It’s just that modern children grew old too early, but they didn’t have time to grow up in terms of responsibility for their actions. It only seems to them that they have matured – there is a term young adult (young adults) – but in fact they have remained children. It’s just that terrible “adult truths” were put into their heads, the most terrible – from violence to murder. And they said: everything is possible, everything is permitted. After all, you deserve it. And if anything – modern kids will require a psychologist and a lawyer.

And all this against the backdrop of a monstrous visualization of evil. Michael Haneke has brilliantly explored the nature of contemporary violence among children and adolescents in two of his films Benny’s Video and Funny Games. But that is a movie, and here is life. And she bleeds. It stinks of the singed meat of those who were treated like in cheap disgusting slashers.

At the end, according to the laws of the genre, there must be some kind of conclusion. But he won’t. Better watch (or review) the short film “Detention”, where children 9 and 10 years old brutally mocked and eventually killed a 3-year-old kid. They did this crazy thing just for fun, because they were interested. And that’s the answer. The meaninglessness of life breeds the ruthlessness of life. And, it would seem, there is no way out of this bloody impasse. But if you read this, then just talk to your children first. Talk to them constantly. That’s right, for starters.
