The countries of the European Union reduced the supply of Russian gas to the domestic market by 48%, including the UK – by 49%. About it informed press service of Gazprom. The company did not provide other details.
September 1 Gazprom informedthat the decline in gas consumption in the EU has become a key factor in the decline in demand for this raw material in the world. In eight months of 2022, according to the company’s estimates, global demand fell by 40 billion cubic meters. m., 73% of which (29 billion cubic meters) accounted for 27 EU countries. The company reduced gas production by 14.6% compared to 2021 to 288.1 billion cubic meters. m.
On August 31, Gazprom stopped deliveries via the Nord Stream gas pipeline for scheduled repairs. The company promised to continue deliveries on September 3, but this never happened. Now Russian gas supplies to Western Europe go only through the territory of Ukraine (through the Sudzha station in the amount of just over 40 million cubic meters per day). Deliveries to Greece, Hungary and Serbia go through the Turkish Stream.
