Exports of American goods to Russia rose to $82.5 million

The June figure was the lowest since January 1992, when exports amounted to $1.3 million. In May, it was $77.4 million.
Imports from Russia slowed down the decline, falling to $484.8 million. In June, it amounted to $661.1, and in May – $1.12 billion.
On October 12, 2021, it was reported that Russian exports to the United States increased by 60% in January-July and reached almost $10 billion. At the same time, imports from the United States increased by 25% and exceeded $16 billion. The trade turnover between Russia and the United States showed a steady growth trend, noted Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
However, after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, Western countries, including the US, EU, Canada and the UK, began to impose sanctions on Russia. As a result, in March, US exports of goods to Russia fell sharply by almost five times to $101.1 million compared to $497.5 million in February 2022 and $476.3 million in March 2021, informed RBC with reference to data from the US Census Bureau.
In August, in force entered embargo on the purchase of Russian coal, now the G7 countries are discussing the introduction of a price ceiling for Russian oil and oil products, and the EU countries – introduction similar restrictions on pipeline gas from Russia.
