Gavrilov assessed relations between Russia and NATO: worse than the Cold War

The head of the Russian delegation at the negotiations in Vienna on military security and arms control, Konstantin Gavrilov, in a conversation with journalists, skeptically assessed the level of current relations between Russia and NATO.

Gatilov reminded journalists of the times of the Cold War, when almost all NATO statements began with an assessment of the likelihood of a sudden large-scale attack by the USSR and the Warsaw Pact countries. However, now, according to him, the situation remains even more tense, judging by the provisions of the strategic concept of the alliance for the next 10 years adopted by NATO in 2022.

“Russia-NATO relations can now be characterized as more than a cold war,” Gatilov said.
