The doctor told what sweets can be useful
The amount of sweets in the diet should be kept to a minimum, but some sweets can be beneficial, gastroenterologist Parandzem Bareghamyan reported in an interview with Gazeta.Ru.
He noted that sweets in the diet should not exceed 10% every day, and the optimal weight of sweets eaten is 25-50 grams. He recommended eating sweets no more than 1-2 times a week.
Bareghamyan recalled that sugar is also found in canned vegetables, muesli and ready-made breakfasts. Excessive indulgence in sweets threatens heart disease, diabetes and obesity, as well as premature aging.
The doctor named honey, dark chocolate or berries, as well as dried fruits as sweets that may be useful. An alternative is marshmallows or marmalade made with berry puree.
