Gangster Mavridi at the trial said about torture: they knocked out testimonies

Allegedly, he was persuaded to slander both wives of the murdered Vladimir Marugov

Gangster Alexander Mavridi, who is accused of killing a well-known businessman Vladimir Marugov and a group escape from a pre-trial detention center, spoke about torture by police officers at a meeting in the Moscow Regional Court on Monday. However, this did not make a special impression on the participants in the process.

Recall that, according to investigators, Mavridi, together with an accomplice, made his way to Marugov’s dacha in the Istra urban district of the Moscow region and shot him with a crossbow. Some time later he was arrested. Together with five accomplices, Mavridi escaped from the Istra pre-trial detention center, but rather quickly all the fugitives were caught. The examination recognized the gangster as sane.

At the trial, Mavridi was placed in a separate “aquarium”. At first, he covered himself from journalists with a folder, but then he stopped hiding his face and took care of his notes. His accomplices were sitting in another “aquarium” and behaved rather cheekily. A translator from the Moldovan language was present in the hall. One of the accused in the escape, Ivan Turcanu, showed her signs of attention, wrote notes on a piece of paper and showed the woman through the glass. At this moment, the rest of the defendants covered their mouths with their hands so as not to deafen the hall with laughter. It was not possible to find out what was written on a piece of paper, since Turcanu quickly removed the note. By the way, 6 people out of 7 were present at the dock. Defendant Konstantin Barsky, who was removed from the courtroom at the last court session, was absent. He violated the order – he twice expressed himself with foul language.

Everyone was interested in the question of the motives for the murder of Marugov. During the process, rumors constantly circulated about Mavridi’s connection with the first wife of the “sausage king” Marugov Tatyana. And today, at a court hearing in the Moscow Regional Court, the representative of the victim Sabina Gazieva (Marugov’s second wife, who miraculously survived the attack on the dacha), asked Mavridi a question:

– You committed the murder of Vladimir Marugov because of Tatyana Marugova?

The defendant hesitated and after a few seconds answered:

– I fully admit my guilt and everything is written in the case.

However, three minutes later, the defendant emotionally added:

– When I was detained, the police tortured me, forced me to testify and said that it was Tatyana Marugova who ordered me to kill her ex-husband. And then the officers demanded to slander the common-law wife of the murdered, Sabina Gazieva, that she ordered the murder.

At the trial, the injured party filed a civil claim for compensation for moral damage to Sabina Gazieva and the young children of the murdered businessman. The representative of the victim announced his intention to recover 1 million from Akhmedov’s accomplice in the murder (the victim and two children), from Mavridi – 6 million each.
