Game service Stadia will stop working on January 18

Google has announced that it is shutting down gaming streaming service Stadia due to its low popularity. It will stop working on January 18, 2023. After this date, the game library will not be available, according to blog Google.

The corporation has promised to refund all purchases of Stadia hardware made through the Google Store, as well as all purchases of games and add-ons from the Stadia store. Google expects to return most of the funds by mid-January.

Google Stadia launched November 19, 2019. The service allowed playing video games over the Internet via streaming. The subscription cost was $9.99 per month. At the same time, Google opened its own Stadia studio to develop exclusive games, but closed her in February 2021. Developers spokethat Google underestimated the scale of investment in projects.
