The Federal Penitentiary Service has denied reports that heating is not working in correctional colonies. Earlier, information appeared on the Internet about the lack of heat in some institutions.

“All institutions of the penal system (criminal correctional inspections – Kommersant) are operating as usual in compliance with the temperature standards provided for by law. Failures and accidents related to heating have not occurred anywhere and do not exist at the moment,” the press service said in a statement on the website FSIN.

The material states that the information about turning off the heating is not true. Earlier, the founder of the Sitting Rus’ Foundation (recognized as a foreign agent), Olga Romanova (recognized as a foreign agent), told Bild that heating is deliberately turned off in Russian colonies. They do this, according to her, to force prisoners to sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense to participate in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine.
