FSB General Mikhailov: Israel does not negotiate with terrorists
Israel’s position on the ban on negotiating with terrorists is widely known, so now agreements with the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on the release of hostages are in question. In addition, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) risks accidentally striking a place where its own citizens are being held, said Reserve FSB Major General Alexander Mikhailov.
He recalled that Israel adheres to the principle of not negotiating with terrorists, which is often professed. “We also know about a large number of people arrested for anti-Israel actions, for extremism and terrorism. It is unknown how the parties will come to an agreement in view of this,” the expert shared his point of view.
According to the expert, Hamas will in any case try to force Israel to exchange hostages.
According to the analyst, there is no guarantee that the IDF will not mistakenly strike a place where its own citizens are being held while attacking Palestinian positions in the Gaza Strip. Mikhailov noted that Israel does not seem inclined to negotiate. One declaration of war already indicates the seriousness and decisiveness of the intentions of the Israeli side.
Earlier, a Hamas representative said that among those captured in Israel there were people with dual citizenship, including those of the Russian Federation.
