From a Soviet primer to an electronic diary: an immersive exhibition of the Russian Ministry of Education opened at VDNKh

Visitors to the International Exhibition and Forum “Russia” will be able to trace the history of national education. On Tuesday, November 7, here Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova and Minister of Education of Russia Sergei Kravtsov opened the immersive exhibition “Enlightenment: Great Changes.”

“The guys, creating this exhibition, sought to show the movement of our education towards the future. From the mistakes that happened in the past, to avoid them, to come to the education that we really need in order to educate Russian citizens who will become builders of our country. I think that it will be interesting for the children, parents, and teachers to see this,” Golikova shared her impressions.

At the immersive exhibition, visitors will be told about the education system in the USSR, the difficult 1990s, and will be shown the way to restore a strong education system – modern school classrooms, an additional education zone, a career guidance center and much more.

“Today our school education system is one of the best in the world. We have taken the best experience of the systemic nature of Soviet education: we have introduced unified federal programs, are preparing federal textbooks, a unique information environment GIS “My School”, the prestige of the teaching profession is increasing. Today, pedagogical education is the second in popularity after information technology. For some specialties, the competition is from 10 to 18 people per place. Schools are being built: we opened the 1000th school in the Republic of Buryatia under the national project “Education”. A program of major renovation of schools is underway. The educational system has returned to schools,” Kravtsov said .

He added that the exhibition will be opened in January in all “Russia is my history” parks. They will talk about it in geography and history lessons, as part of the “Conversations about Important” lessons. Today, an updated social studies textbook is being prepared, and the achievements that are presented at the exhibition will be included in it.
