More than half of Russians believe that the Russian president, who will be elected in the 2024 elections, should build friendly relations with China, sociologists have found. In second and third place are the countries of Africa and Central Asia, but the list of potential allies also included the currently unfriendly European Union (25% of respondents were in favor of normalizing relations with the EU), Ukraine (24%) and the United States (19%). At the same time, people of all ages want to be friends with China, young people often look towards Europe and the USA, and women have a better attitude towards Ukraine. The initiators of the survey explain the serious lag behind friendly India (only 5% look in its direction) by the fact that they simply haven’t talked much about it lately.
