The Swiss technology company Proton has made affordable download password manager Proton Pass. The company says it’s the first password protection service to feature end-to-end encryption. Proton Pass is offered in free and paid versions – premium subscribers will get additional features.
Proton Pass is available on iOS and Android, as well as Google Chrome and Brave browser extensions. The data is stored on the company’s own servers in Switzerland, where the company claims to have some of the strictest data privacy laws. The password manager has also passed a security audit by the German company Cure53. The service encrypts absolutely all data, so that even Proton employees cannot view user information. Proton announced password manager Proton Pass in April. Proton is primarily known for its secure email service, but it also provides VPN and cloud storage services.
