Scammers deceived a 92-year-old elderly man out of 5 million rubles. REN TV reports this.

An unknown person called the St. Petersburg resident on the afternoon of December 20 and introduced himself as a policeman. The scammer claimed that someone intended to take over his funds.

The criminals convinced the Russian to withdraw his savings and transfer them to an anonymous person under the pretext of ensuring the safety of the money. The total amount of damage was 5 million rubles.

A criminal case of fraud has been opened into the incident.

Earlier it became known that a specialist from the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) was deceived out of a million rubles.
