Fraudsters came up with a new way to steal Telegram accounts

In the popular messenger Telegram, a new scheme is being spread, which is used by scammers. With its help, attackers can gain access to someone else’s account. It is reported by RBC.
Attackers act in the following way. The victim receives a message from a friend asking him to support the child and vote for his work on the page of the online competition. An unsuspecting victim, wanting to do good, follows the link and gets to a page where they are asked to log in. To do this, you must specify a phone number.
Well, then everything is simple. An authorization code from Telegram is entered, and the scammers take over the account. RBC clarifies that messages are sent to contacts of hacked accounts and publics where the owners of such accounts were members.
As the leading analyst of the Group-IB Digital Risk Protection Department Evgeny Egorov explained, such a fraud scheme is new for Telegram. In mailing lists, in addition to links to “left” sites, there may be files or links to malware.
