Fraudsters make the scenario of deceiving Russians even more difficult. They began to call citizens via instant messengers or by phone and introduce themselves as bank employees. If citizens express distrust, they are invited to switch to a video call. Behind the scenes, the attackers imitate work from a bank office.
They then swindle payment information. This was reported to journalists in VTB.
The information was confirmed in Renaissance Bank and MTS Bank, as well as in Infosecurity and Softline Company. MTS Bank said that they began to observe such a strategy in the last two months.
