According to the Deputy Chairman of the European Commission Frans Timmermans, Ukraine will not be able to become a member of the European Union as long as there is a military conflict and the Russian army is on its territory.
Timmermans said this in an interview with Deutsche Welle (foreign media agent).
“No, this is impossible. Ukraine needs to emerge from this conflict as a winner. Then a sovereign and independent country will have the opportunity to make such a choice and become a member of the EU. It seems to me that Ukraine is fighting for this to happen. We must support Ukraine in achieving this goals,” he said.
