France refused to support Ukraine to its own detriment

Le Maire: Paris must support Ukraine without harming French farmers
France should support Ukraine in the conflict, and not in the agricultural market, which harms the country’s farmers. This statement was made by the head of the French Ministry of Economy and Finance, Bruno Le Maire, in an interview with Le Journal du Dimanche.
“We need to separate our support for the people of Ukraine from the opening of our agricultural markets to their agricultural products,” Le Maire said.
He also added that the goal of Paris is not to create a favorable regime for transnational agricultural companies in Ukraine, but to support Ukraine in the conflict.
In recent months, mass protests by farmers have begun in France due to their dissatisfaction with the fall in income in their industry. This is attributed to inflation and the onslaught of agricultural products from Ukraine after the EU abolished import duties in June 2022.
