1,115 international observers are monitoring the elections in Russia – Kommersant

Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Ella Pamfilova said that 1,115 international observers and experts from 129 countries are monitoring the voting process in the presidential elections. According to her, among them there are experts from Europe and North America. The words of the head of the Central Election Commission are quoted by TASS.
Ms. Pamfilova noted that the CEC officially accredited 706 observers from 106 countries. Following the results of the World Youth Festival, 224 experts from 51 countries expressed their desire to participate in the elections as observers. Another 185 experts from 58 countries came to Russia at the invitation of the Public Chamber. She noted that international observers work in 53 regions.
Elections in Russia take place from March 15 to 17. The CEC registered four candidates: Nikolai Kharitonov (KPRF), Leonid Slutsky (LDPR), Vladislav Davankov (New People) and Vladimir Putin (self-nominated). The Central Election Commission will announce the preliminary results of the elections in the morning of March 18.
