France, Poland and Germany are in favor of revising the basic principles of EU policy towards Russia against the backdrop of the conflict in Ukraine, should from the joint statement of the Ministers for European Affairs of the three countries.
“We must reconsider the basic principles of EU policy towards Russia,” the statement says.
The Ministers advocated a strategic approach, with the participation of international partners, to the tasks of reconstruction in Ukraine in a coordinated and stable format. In the future, the EU may also create a special mission “to train and assist Ukrainian forces in the European Union, which will also provide maintenance and repair of military equipment,” the statement said.
In August, the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that the creation of a mission to train Ukrainian soldiers was being discussed, but not on the territory of Ukraine. In response to this, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, urged to call a spade a spade.
“The EU will create training bases for training terrorists and Nazi fighters for the Kyiv regime. A hundred years ago, Europeans also did not immediately figure out what fascism was. Then they understood, but it was too late,” the diplomat said.
