The French Football Federation (FFF) is filing a complaint with FIFA after Antoine Griezmann’s eight-minute stoppage goal against Tunisia was cancelled. This was reported to the media by the representative of the FFF.
“We filed a complaint with FIFA after Antoine Griezmann’s goal was, in our opinion, erroneously dismissed. This complaint must be filed within 24 hours of the final whistle,” the FFF said in a statement.
At the same time, the FFF statement does not specify whether the complaint was related to the goal itself or to the fact that it was canceled after the final whistle.
Griezmann shot from the summer on the opponent’s goal in the eighth minute of stoppage time, but the goal was canceled after watching the VAR, as, according to the judges, the striker was offside when Aurélien Tchouameni sent the ball into the Tunisian penalty area.
Following the results of the group stage, Tunisia was eliminated from the tournament, and France left group D in the playoffs and on Sunday, December 4, will meet with Poland.
