Four Dagestani girls fleeing domestic violence were able to leave for Georgia. They had to spend more than 10 hours at the Upper Lars checkpoint. Together with the sisters, their lawyer left for the territory of a neighboring country. According to the Baza Telegram channel, local volunteers have already met Dagestan women in Georgia. They will help the girls get to a safe place.
Four sisters, aged 18 to 24, ran away from their home in Dagestan and decided to move to Georgia. The girls accused their relatives of systematic beatings and moral abuse. One of them even showed her archival photos after the beating.
At the Upper Lars checkpoint, the sisters were not released immediately. Their relatives managed to arrive at the border. The girls categorically refused to leave with them. Since, according to them, the father promised to hang them in order to “wash away the shame.”
Even after the fugitives ended up in neutral territory, the father promised to do everything possible to return them. The girls are sure that he asked for help from friends in Tbilisi. And the sisters are still in danger.
