“It is with deep regret that we announce that Rodion Amirov passed away today. Two years ago, the young man was diagnosed with a terrible diagnosis – a brain tumor, the struggle for every moment of life began, ”Mr. Milstein wrote in X (formerly Twitter).
Rodion Amirov was born in Bashkortostan in 2001. In 2019, he took second place at the Junior World Championships as part of the Russian team. Since 2019, he has been playing for the Salavat Yulaev club. In 2020, he was selected by Toronto in the National Hockey League (NHL) Draft.
In February 2022, the press service of Toronto announced that Rodion Amirov had a brain tumor. In April, he underwent treatment in Germany, after which he returned to Ufa, where he signed a lease agreement with Salavat Yulaev.
