“Fortune was favorable to us for diligence”: young football players of “Beysuzhka” became the second on the “Leather Ball”

The Beysuzhek team from the Vyselkovsky district took second place in the Superfinal of the Leather Ball tournament. The prestigious All-Russian football tournament was held in Volgograd. The team from the farm Beysuzhek II competed in the middle age category (born in 2009-2010).

The correspondent of “MK in the Kuban” talked with the head coach of the team Evgeny Lyabin and learned the details of the tournament.

– In the championship of the Krasnodar Territory last year, we took second place, and among the villages and villages were the best. Therefore, we were sent to the Rural League-Kolosok. In Essentuki we performed there in July. We passed the zonal stage, the group stage, then the play-offs. It was a difficult game with the Voronezh region, but we won. In the final, they met with a team from Mordovia, they lost, but later they were disqualified. Thus, we were recognized as the winners of the Rural League and received a ticket to the final four of the “Leather Ball” along with the three winners of the urban leagues.

Of course, we were glad that we made it to the final and that it was held in Volgograd. I wanted to show the children historical places. In their free time from competitions, they visited the memorial complex “To the Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad” on Mamaev Kurgan.

We were a little lucky in the Superfinal and on the football field – for hard work, attitude to business, fortune was favorable. In the first match against the team from Berdsk (Novosibirsk region) we won 3:0, we successfully used our chances. The second game against “Favorite” from Vyborg, however, failed, losing 0:4. In the final meeting of the group stage, they tied with Unit from Kazan 1:1. All the strong teams were in the final, there are no simple rivals there. But it was the Kazan team that I liked the most. An even line-up, good anthropometry among the guys, they are strong in the game – the team has no weaknesses. In our and the parallel game, the fate of the tournament was decided. Everything was thin. 10 minutes before the end, we equalized the score – team captain Vadim Nekhoroshkov scored. Then the goalkeeper rescued us twice at the end. And “Favorite” from Vyborg lost, and we went to the final from the second place, ahead of Berdsk in a personal meeting. Unfortunately, in the decisive match we lost to Unit 0:5. If you managed to survive with them in the group, then you simply didn’t have enough strength for the final. We have the smallest team in anthropometry.

Yevgeny Lyabin spoke about the awards received at the tournament.

– They gave us a big cup. All winners received them. The medals are beautiful, unusual, both here and at the Rural League. Even in Volgograd, Nikita Voloshin received the individual prize of the best defender. Also, all the children were presented with badges, pennants, notebooks, pens. Further this year we continue to play, we are going to hold tournaments in Beysuzhka in November and December.
