Esportsmen Daniil (Putrick) Abdrakhmanov and Egor (Swizzy) Lusiko reported that they did not receive a cash prize for winning the Fortnite championship in the amount of $200 thousand due to connections with Russia. Mr. Abdrakhmanov was also excluded from the FNCS Copenhagen Lan tournament. The publication reports this Sportskeeda.

Mr. Abdrakhmanov sent a letter to Epic Games, which held the competition, saying that he had not violated any of the established rules. In response letters, Epic Games reports that players are in a region with “limited access to prizes” – the company introduced this status for Russia after the outbreak of the Ukrainian conflict. However, as Daniil Abdrakhmanov said, he and Egor Lusiko participated in the competition outside of Russia.

“I understand that we cannot play from a country that is under restrictions, but Swizzy and I played from a country that is allowed to play and receive prizes from tournaments. We live and play from Belarus,” said the e-sportsman.
