Former St. Petersburg vice-governor Virolainen died at the age of 76

Oleg Virolainen, who served as vice-governor of the city in 2003–2006, died in St. Petersburg, reports “Fontanka”. On January 19 he would have turned 76 years old. The official worked in Smolny until 2009. After the post of vice-governor, he served as head of the Committee for Improvement and Road Maintenance of St. Petersburg.
Oleg Virolainen is also known as a major businessman. He and his family members own several enterprises, including the Vostochny yacht club (Plaza Neva LLC), SBS-SERVICE, and Navigator-SBS. The latter company became the contractor for the preparation of the territory for the construction of the Vitebsk interchange.
Those wishing to say goodbye to the deceased will be able to come on January 12 to the chapel of the parish of the Church of St. Alexis, Metropolitan of Moscow. The funeral ceremony will take place from 9:30 to 11:00.
