Former head of the European Commission: the EU is deceiving corrupt Ukraine, promising quick membership

The former head of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, said that he is “very angry at some voices in Europe” that force Ukrainians to believe in the country’s imminent EU membership.
Juncker said that Ukrainian society is corrupt and the state’s accession to the European Union “would not be good for either the EU or Ukraine,” reports augsburger-allgemeine.de.
The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, named 2030 as the date when Ukraine could become a member of the EU, but soon The Guardian, citing a senior European diplomat, reported that this date was “taken at random.”
