Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami club has hired a former commando to ensure the player’s safety during matches, Daily Mail writes.
As reported, the bodyguard for Messi was chosen personally by the co-owner of the American club David Beckham.
Now the Argentine will be guarded by former US Army special forces Yassin Chueco, who managed to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is also proficient in martial arts and has participated in multiple MMA fights.
Among his functions is to run along the edge of the field during matches in order to shield his client from any unwanted contact.
Lionel Messi joined the American club Inter Miami this summer and signed a contract until 2025.
