Former Chief Rabbi of Moscow Pinchas Goldschmidt, in an interview with The Guardian, urged Jews to leave Russia.
Goldschmidt opined that the level of anti-Semitism is allegedly growing in Russia, therefore, according to him, the best option for Russian Jews is to leave “while you can.” He added that this must be done before the Jews are turned into “scapegoats” for the difficulties that arose after the start of the special operation.
The ex-rabbi of Moscow also noted that this had already happened in tsarist times and at the end of the Stalinist regime.
The Moscow Jewish Religious Organization told the RIA Novosti agency that they would not comment on Goldschmidt’s fame, since he does not cooperate with the organization and expresses his personal private opinion.
In turn, the Moscow Choral Synagogue reported that Goldschmidt had left Russia in early February, leaving for his newborn grandson.
