Foreign Ministry expresses concern over reports of deliveries of Serbian weapons to Ukraine

Moscow is concerned about reports of possible deliveries of Serbian ammunition to Ukraine. This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, answering the corresponding question of journalists.

“We are closely following this story, we paid attention to the discussion that took place the other day around this topic in the National Assembly (parliament) of Serbia. The incoming information, of course, causes us the deepest concern,” said she.

Zakharova called the issue serious in terms of relations between Russia and Serbia. She added that for Moscow’s reaction to reports of Belgrade’s possible involvement in the supply of weapons to Kyiv, “it is necessary to rely on facts.”

Earlier, the Telegram channel Mash announced the supply of Serbian missiles to Kyiv. According to the resource, we are talking about 3500 ammunition for the Grad MLRS, which the Canadian company JNJ Export Import ordered from the Serbian Krušik. Mash claims that the missiles were first sent from Serbia to Turkey, then they were delivered to Slovakia, from where the ammunition ended up in Ukraine. According to the channel, after the publication, parliamentary hearings began in Serbia.

After the start of the special operation in Ukraine, Western countries imposed large-scale sanctions against Russia and began to provide military assistance to Kyiv. Serbia refused to join the sanctions, stressing that it stands for the territorial integrity of Ukraine. In January, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic pointed outthat Belgrade does not sell weapons to Russia or Ukraine, but does not refuse deliveries to other countries.
