Ukraine’s attempt to strike at the center of Moscow once again confirms the essence of the Kyiv regime. Such a statement did Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, commenting on the ongoing Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory.
“Another confirmation of the criminal nature of the regime of Vladimir Zelensky is his attempt to hit the center of Moscow tonight. Thanks to the well-coordinated work of air defense, casualties and significant destruction were avoided, ”the message says.
Zakharova noted that the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia is investigating all shelling of Russian regions, as well as other crimes by Ukraine. Russian courts, in turn, pass sentences on Ukrainian neo-Nazis who have committed illegal acts, including against the civilian population, she added.
On the night of August 18 Kyiv tried attack objects in Moscow and the Moscow region using drones. Around 04:00 Moscow time, the drone was shot down by an air defense system, after which it changed its flight path and fell on a non-residential building near Krasnopresnenskaya embankment. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin clarified that the wreckage of the drone fell in the Expocentre area. The building received minor damage. As a result of the incident, no one was injured.
Due to a night attack, Vnukovo, Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports restricted work to ensure flight safety. At 04:30 Moscow time, restrictions were lifted.
