Foreign applications appeared in RuStore

Applications of foreign developers have appeared in the Russian RuStore store. About it informs TASS with reference to Ilya Ulyanov, Director for Partner Relations at RuStore.
In particular, in the app store you can now find the social network of short vertical videos Likee. Ulyanov added that in the near future the number of foreign applications in the store will increase significantly. According to him, now in total the application store has more than 4,000 both Russian and foreign publishers.
In February 2023 RuStore completed beta testing and allowed foreign developers to host applications. At that time, about 5,000 applications were available to users.
At the end of February, the RuStore audience reached 10 million users per month. The leaders in downloads were financial apps (38% of all downloads), services for life and work (12%), as well as apps from the Entertainment (9%) and Shopping (8%) sections.
RuStore is an analogue of Google Play, it is available only for Android devices. The app store was launched in May 2022 amid sanctions due to the start of a special operation in Ukraine and the removal of a number of Russian apps from the App Store and Google Play. VK is developing it together with other IT companies with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development.
