The State Duma Commission to investigate the facts of interference of foreign states in internal affairs reported that this spring foreign agents abroad want to organize a series of protests near Russian foreign institutions. According to the head of the commission, Vasily Piskarev, these actions are aimed at discrediting the presidential elections.

“The commission recorded attempts by a number of foreign agents, representatives of extremist and undesirable foreign organizations and media in Russia to hold a series of protest actions in March of this year near the foreign offices of the Russian Foreign Ministry, timed to coincide with the presidential elections in our country and aimed at discrediting them,” said Vasily Piskarev, his words were published in Telegram channel commissions.

Vasily Piskarev claims that the organizers of these actions meet with representatives of Russian-speaking diasporas, voice “action strategies for the upcoming elections,” distribute interactive maps of polling stations abroad “to gather protest groups,” and are also preparing filming in front of embassies and consulates using “extremist symbols.” .

The head of the commission did not rule out the preparation of provocations during voting at foreign polling stations. He sent the commission’s analysis to the Russian Foreign Ministry. The day before, the Russian Embassy asked the German authorities to ban mass rallies near Russian diplomatic missions on election day.

This year, for the first time, presidential elections will take place over three days: March 15, 16 and 17. There will be four candidates on the ballot: Leonid Slutsky (LDPR), Nikolai Kharitonov (KPRF), Vladislav Davankov (New People) and self-nominated Vladimir Putin.
