On Saturday in Moscow the air temperature may update the 130-year-old record. This assumption was made by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand. According to his forecasts, the thermometer will rise slightly above 23 degrees.
The record-breaking heat in Moscow was recorded in September 1899. Then the air warmed up to 23.3 degrees. If today there is at least 0.1 degrees more, it will become a new record for September 30.
The day before, this was just 0.1 degrees short of the record. On September 29, 1900, thermometers showed 23.3 degrees. And after 123 years, only 23.2. Meteorologists note that Saturday will be the last warm day in the capital region. Already from the first of October, Muscovites and residents of the Moscow region will experience real autumn.
