For the primaries of the “United Russia” in the new regions will not require a certificate of no criminal record

“United Russia” to participate in the primaries in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions will not require from candidates a certificate of no criminal record and information about the closure of foreign bank accounts. The party believes that in the current realities it is difficult to comply with all the formalities. The newspaper reported Vedomosti with reference to the head of the central executive committee of United Russia, Alexander Sidyakin.
As Mr. Sidyakin explained, in the annexed regions, not everyone can provide police clearance certificates in a timely manner, because “this is tied to the Ukrainian authorities.” He also noted that candidates from these regions still have foreign accounts and “objectively, nothing can be done about it.” In his opinion, United Russia should “learn how to work with this.”
Vedomosti, citing Konstantin Kostin, head of the Civil Society Development Fund, also reports that the legal block of United Russia is finishing work on the requirements for participants in the party’s primaries.
The United Russia primaries will be held from 22 to 28 May. It will be possible to nominate candidates for them from March 8 to April 27. According to Kommersant’s information, candidates from United Russia were recommended to build their election campaign along ideological lines: solidarity, heroes and patriots, development and a sense of stability, care and assistance, and ownership.
