Expert Zheleznyakov assessed the cancellation of the manned launch of the Soyuz: it happened for the first time

Cosmonautics historian Alexander Zheleznyakov, in a conversation with journalists, commented on the decision to cancel the launch of the Soyuz MS-25 manned spacecraft immediately before the launch.

According to the expert, there have never been such cases in the history of Russian cosmonautics.

“Immediately before the “start” command, the launches of manned spacecraft were not cancelled. There were other excesses, but there were no such incidents. It happened with unmanned ones, but not with manned ones,” Zheleznyakov said.

Let us remind you that the launch of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle with the Soyuz MS-25 manned spacecraft, scheduled for 16:21 Moscow time on March 21, was canceled – the automatic system was activated 20 seconds before the launch.
