– We met Vyacheslav Mikhailovich in the early 90s, when I was just starting my career, – says Yulian. – At that time, Moscow was absolutely gray, in stores – empty shelves.

For me, Slava has always been a legend. In the 80s, he dressed Pugacheva, and Piekha, and Zykina – all the leading artists of the country. I came to his Fashion House to buy a stage costume. I spent the first money I earned on chic clothes from Slava. First, I remember, I bought a white, ready-made suit. And then Zaitsev sewed for me to order.

– Did you take the money? Or free sewing?

– I paid for all the things that I took from him. Every year, Slava sewed 3-4 suits for me, he drew sketches himself. I remember once creating a green suit for me. At that time it was difficult to find good fabric in Moscow. So Slava called his friend Yves Saint Laurent, asking him to get a green cloth. Yves Saint Laurent did everything and it turned out to be an insanely beautiful costume. Slava, of course, was an incredible person – a real legend.

– Where are your suits from Zaitsev now stored?

– In my house. I kept all the costumes from Slava – they are out of fashion, out of time. By the way, I have not only suits from Zaitsev, but also absolutely incredible coats. At that time, even in KVN they made a parody of me: “Glory to me, Glory to me! Glory to me … sewed a coat!

– Was it difficult to cooperate with Vyacheslav Mikhailovich?

– We somehow immediately found a common language. At that moment, virtually all the artists with whom he worked betrayed him. Everyone ran to Yudashkin to get dressed. Including Pugachev. But it was Slava who invented her famous hoodies, which hid all the flaws of the figure, emphasized the merits. But Alla went to Yudashkin, began to wear short skirts …

– He was worried about the departure of Pugacheva?

– Of course, for him it was a blow. But he never showed his feelings. He was worried about his affairs, the affairs of the Fashion House. They later reconciled with Alla. In recent years, she came to him. As far as I know, there was no close communication. But it was difficult for everyone to communicate with Slava due to illness.
