Mosstat published data received from the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the City of Moscow. According to them, at the end of January 2023, 44.6 thousand residents of the city were registered in order to find suitable work. Compared to the corresponding period in 2022, their number decreased by 13.5 percent.
There are 27.1 thousand unemployed in the capital, 17.5 percent of them are citizens of pre-retirement age. 17.1 thousand people receive unemployment benefits, which is 19.9 percent less than in January 2022.
The officially registered unemployment rate is 0.4 percent. It is calculated as follows: the ratio of the number of unemployed to the total number of economically active population is taken.
Enterprises and organizations stated that they need 108.3 thousand workers, of which 65.2 percent are working professions.
In January 2023, 9.5 thousand people applied for the provision of public services to assist in finding a suitable job. This is 12.6 percent less than in the same period in 2022.
Also in January 2023, 5.3 thousand people were deregistered due to employment.
