April 4 in Krasnodar began a new season of the National Student Football League. Based on the results of the last championship, the 7 best teams formed a new strongest division – the Igor Gamula Superleague.
The team of the Kuban State University is the most titled student team in Russia. The football players of the university won the European Championships three times and the National Football League three times. In the last NSFL draw, the Krasnodar team became silver medalists.
In their opening match of the new season, the players of KubSU beat the Southern Federal University (Rostov-on-Don) with a score of 2:0. Goals in the team of Alexei Gerasimenko were scored by Daniil Kostyrin and Usman Azhibona.
In total, 4 teams take part in the Krasnodar tournament. Earlier, the teams of the Crimean Federal University (Simferopol) and RUS “GTSOLIFK” (Moscow) played their match. They did not reveal the winner, having played 0:0.
On April 5, Krasnodar will meet with KFU, the winner of the last three draws of the National Football League, and on the 6th – with the capital’s university.
At the preliminary stage, the participants of the Superleague will play 12 matches, playing 2 times with each other. Then the top 4 teams will determine the winner and prize-winners in the Grand Final.
