A football tournament for the prisoners of the colonies of the region was held in the Yaroslavl region. The tournament is held annually, in the format of mini-football. Each colony puts up a team that fights for the main prize.
The management of the Federal Penitentiary Service believes that competitions and sports contribute to the correct goal-setting among prisoners, the manifestation of strong-willed qualities of character and the desire for a healthy lifestyle.
“Welcoming remarks were made by: Deputy Head of the Federal Penitentiary Service Alexander Stepanishchev, Deputy Director for Sports Activities of the CPLF of FC Shinnik Alexander Kalinin and member of the Public Council under the Federal Penitentiary Service Maxim Rokobolsky,” according to the official release of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Yaroslavl region.
The tournament was held in a round robin system. Amateur athletes demonstrated excellent training and skill. As well as teamwork skills.
The podium was distributed as follows. The first place in a difficult struggle was won by the team of the Uglich colony No. 3, the second place was won by the Rybinsk colony No. 12 and the top three were completed by the convicts from the Yaroslavl colony No. 1.
The winners received the main prize – they played a friendly match with the professional football players of Shinnik. In addition, they received valuable prizes and sports equipment for further training.
