Football players from Kostroma almost became winners of the V All-Russian Yard Football Festival

The regional committee for physical education and sports reports that the Kostroma football team “Vympel”, which took part in the Fifth All-Russian yard football tournament, held in the Siberian Barnaul, performed much better than expected and returned to Kostroma with silver medals.
As Vympel coach Alexey Baev said, the ultimate dream of his before going to Barnaul was reaching the quarterfinals and getting into the top eight. However, the Kostroma junior football players showed an enviable will to win and teamwork – so our team reached the final and was one step away from becoming champions – in the last match of the tournament, the Kostroma team lost to the Perm team “Record” in a penalty shootout after a draw in the main game time. So the young football players returned to Kostroma almost as champions, and their silver medals “weigh” no less than gold ones.
